MS: Garlic peeler.

CB: Your favourite ingredient, or food?
MS: Fish.

CB: Most over-rated ingredient, or food?
MS: Balsamic vinegar.

CB: What was the first cookbook you used?
MS: Joy of Cooking.

CB: Your favourite authors, doesn't have to be cookbook authors?
MS: Nigel Slater.

CB: Your favourite city?
MS: Fortune, P.E.I.

CB: What is your greatest extravagance/indulgence?
MS: The wood burning pizza oven in my house.

CB: Your favourite movie?
MS: Chocolat.

CB: What was your first job?
MS: As a dishwasher in a college cafeteria, I lasted 3 days. I quit and became a cook because they have way more fun.

CB: What kind of music do you like?
MS: All kinds, the shuffle on my ipod.

CB: Your favourite sports team?
MS: Lance Armstrong.

CB: Your pet peeve when dining out?
MS: When you order something on the menu and it doesn’t match the description on the menu.

CB: Your favourite drink?
MS: Orange juice.

CB: If you could change one thing in the food & wine industry what would it be?
MS: Find a way to pay young cooks better, not chefs.

CB: Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
MS: My son.

CB: What four people, dead or alive, would you invite to dinner (assuming you would invite your significant other to have six around the table)?
MS: Julia Child, George Bush (so he can do the dishes, peel the onions and stand in the corner), Bono (so he can sing for his supper) and Johnny Flynn (so he can bring the oysters).
