NS: Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Julia Child.

NS: Saul Bellow (earlier books) and Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.

NS: Shanghai/Paris.

CB: What is your greatest extravagance/indulgence?
NS: My Shanghai Tang outfits.

CB: Your favourite movie?
NS: A Man and a Woman.

CB: What was your first job?
NS: Scooping ice cream at a homemade ice cream stand.

CB: What kind of music do you like?
NS: Brazilian/ Bossa Nova.

CB: Your favourite sports team?
NS: Red Sox.

CB: Your pet peeve when dining out?
NS: Bad service.

CB: Your favourite drink?
NS: "Golden Eye"- 2 parts rum, fresh lime juice, and grenadine served at Goldeneye in Jamaica.

CB: If you could change one thing in the food & wine industry what would it be?
NS: More original programming on the Food Network.

CB: Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
NS: Julia Child, Huang Su Huei ( my surrogate Chinese godmother) and T.C. Lai (my surrogate Chinese father).
