Winning Apple Pie Recipe from our first Apple Pie Contest 2011Pie Crust
Combine four, shortening and salt with a pastry blender just until combined.
Add lemon juice to apples as cutting to avoid browning. Once all apples are cut, add ground cardamon, ground cinnamon, sea salt, apple blossom honey and whole wheat flour. Pre-heat oven to 375F. Roll out dough for a 9" pie plate. Fit into the bottom of the pie plate and add apple pie filling, place upper crust on top of the pie. Cut into the middle of the top crust for steam vents. Crimp and flute the edges. Bake in 375F degree oven for 1 hour. |
