Well a collection of recipes from some of our favourite UK cookbook writers certainly piqued our curiousity and we were not disappointed. Based on the popular Brit TV cooking show Market Kitchen. The Oprah Magazine Cookbook
O Magazine
Full of delicious comfort food and home cooking recipes from throughout the series of O Magazines, this cookbook covers all the bases; appetisers like crostini with wild mushrooms and mozerella, meat mains such as grilled lamb with salsa verde, and coconut lane cake for dessert. Many recipes are contributed by the chefs who have been featured in O, and well known names such as Marcus Samuelsson and Maya Angelou write about what food and eating mean to them. Ching's Chinese Food in Minutes

Trust Delia Smith to take Christmas cooking then turn the tension way down. Fifteen years after her first Christmas book, Delia’s new version features 50 classics with 100 new recipes from mulled port to mince pies to pistachio cheese biscuits to turkey with all the trimmings. Most useful of all is the planning section which prefaces the book. Lists of things to have in the freezer, in the pantry, last minute purchases, non-food items, menus for the many days of Christmas are aimed at maximum organization. Food Network favourite Emeril Lagasse here compiles a range of recipes based on how much time you have to spend in the kitchen; 20, 40, or 60 minutes. Die hard Jamie fans will need no convincing to get his latest book, but luckily those less certain will take little persuading. The recipes here speak for themselves as Jamie travels across the United States sampling the cuisine. He admits that at the outset his idea of American food was of cheap fast food, but gets some cultural lessons in New York's Chinatown, cooking with cowboys in Wyoming and Montana, learning about Southern cooking in Louisiana and Georgia, and soaking up the culinary diversity of L.A. As usual Jamie's recipes are straight-forward and do-able, and the likes of Mountain Meatballs and Egyptian Stuffed Flatbread will have you hurrying to the kitchen. Full colour photos throughout.
